Biological safety cabinet is a box-type air purification negative pressure safety device that can prevent the aerosol dispersion of certain biological particles containing dangerous or unknown characteristics during the experimental operation and processing. It is widely used in microbiology, biomedicine, genetic engineering, biological products and other fields of scientific research, teaching, clinical testing and production, is the laboratory biosafety in the first level of protection barrier in the most basic safety protection equipment .
The working principle of biological safety cabinet is mainly to pump the air inside the cabinet outward, so that the cabinet maintains a negative pressure state, through the vertical airflow to protect staff; the outside air is filtered by the high efficiency air filter into the safety cabinet to avoid processing samples are contaminated; the air inside the cabinet also needs to be filtered by HEPA filter and then discharged into the atmosphere to protect the environment.
